A dental crown is a fabricated cap which replaces or covers the actual tooth crown to restore its shape and strength. Different types of dental crowns are composite resin crowns, pfm crowns,  porcelain crowns, metal crowns and zirconia crowns. Dental Bridge is a structure placed between two crowns to fill the gap created my missing teeth.

Types of dental bridge are Traditional bridge ( supported by adjacent crown),Maryland bridge ( supported by metal wings) and Implant supported bridge. In order to make a crown or bridge fit perfectly, the tooth is first prepared by removing any existing decay , rebuild and reshaped before placing a crown.Then the crown is attached to the tooth using permanent cement.

After placement of crown and bridge, avoid eating,  drinking and rinsing for 1 hour. Crown and bridge care should be taken by brushing and flossing regularly, avoiding chewing gums and sticky food, and not applying too much pressure on crown and bridge cemented side.
